This itinerary idea explores the many facets of Kilauea over the course of 5 days, a journey from forest to lava to desert to ocean:
Day 1: Kilauea’s summit, from the native forests to the site of active eruption at Halema’uma’u crater atop the dynamic volcano.
Day 2: Kilauea’s coastal plain, with the objective of seeing active lava or the lava ocean entry at dusk, conditions permitting.

Day 3: Kilauea’s chain of craters, from archaelogical sites to historical eruptions, the south flank is a living, moving part of Kilauea volcano.
Day 4: Kilauea’s Southwest Rift and the Ka’u Desert, with the objective of seeing the products of various volcanic processes, conditions permitting.
Day 5: Kilauea’s Puna coast, focusing on historic eruptions and volcanic features (including warm ponds) within the Puna region of Kilauea volcano.
Price: US$ 1935, 1 or 2 people, additional $375 per person to a maximum of 4 (GET, park entry fees, and meals are not included).
